IL POLLINO
The Pollino National Park is the biggest natural park in Italy, spreading over more than 200.000 square kilometres in areas of absolute wilderness and cultural landscapes in southern Italy. This is the perfect place for trekking Serra Dolcedorme itself, at 2000 m, is obviously the prime destination for many, although there are many mountain ranges which are just as beautiful and challenging. Amongst them are the Pollino, Serra delle Ciavole, Serra di Crispo, where the Palebark Pine still climbs the rocky highest tops of this mountains of breathtaking beauty. Walking in this park will allow you to have access to outstanding natural scenarios with a very rich flora and fauna.The Park is also the ideal location for historical, cultural and gastronomic interest, where you can immerse yourself in the local culture, visiting archaeological, religious and historical sites and discover traditions and typical food.
